Stormers coach John Dobson faces a selection poser at wing ahead of their Super Rugby Unlocked encounter against the Pumas in Nelspruit on Friday.
Sergeal Peterson is ruled out after suffering a quad injury in last weekend's 23-17 win over the Lions at Newlands.
It would have been the perfect opportunity for Seabelo Senatla to make his return to action, but the former Blitzboks star is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Forwards coach Rito Hlungwani told reporters on Monday that Senatla was not 100% back to full fitness.
"From Saturday, we've got one casualty and that is Sergeal. The rest of the guys have got soft tissue injuries and niggles we're not too concerned about. Sergeal is the one player that is totally out for this weekend.
"Seabelo is close, but he won't be ready for this weekend. He's running and getting ready..." Hlungwani said during a virtual media briefing.
This leaves the Stormers brains trust with a few headaches as to who will partner Leolin Zas on the wing.
Dobson has the option of shifting Warrick Gelant from fullback to wing, with either Damian Willemse or Tim Swiel then occupying the No 15 jersey.
But a more likely scenario is for the coach to give some of the young wingers in his squad a run.
His options include Edwill van der Merwe, Angelo Davids and Sihle Njezula.
Of the above-mentioned trio, former Maties Varsity Cup star Van der Merwe appears the most likely to crack the nod.
Dobson will name his team on Thursday afternoon, with Friday's clash at Mbombela Stadium scheduled for 19:00.
