Sharks coach Sean Everitt has praised his returning Springboks after Friday's valuable 30-16 United Rugby Championship victory over the Bulls in Durban.

Siya Kolisi, Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi and Bongi Mbonambi all started at King's Park having played in all of South Africa's end of year European internationals, while Sbu Nkosi and Thomas du Toit provided even more World Cup-winning pedigree.

It was enough to see the hosts over the line in a match that was scrappy for large parts, and man of the match Am's intercept try on 54 minutes was a huge turning point in the contest.

The Boks will now put their feet up until after Christmas following a demanding year of fixtures and bio-bubbles, but Everitt gave them a collective nod of approval after Friday night's win.

"They did come through really well. Lukhanyo Am got man of the match and I think he's played 80 minutes in every game that he's played for South Africa," the coach said.

"What's most pleasing about the Boks coming back is their attitude. These guys came back really well prepared with the stuff we had given them while they were overseas. They had studied thoroughly, and it was a smooth transition having them back in the fold."

"That's what you would expect from Springbok rugby players. I've been at the Sharks for a long period of time now, and sometimes I've really been worried about the attitude some Springboks have come back to training with.

"It's really pleasing and I think what Rassie and Jacques have created at the Boks is something special. We just look forward to those guys rubbing shoulders with our youngsters and showing them the right way."

Friday night's win leaves the Sharks in 11th position on the URC table.
