The sixth round of fixtures for the Varsity Cup on Friday, 30 April.

CUT 23-18 Maties

CUT recorded their greatest feat as they scored a last-minute try to beat Maties in Pretoria.

With the scores locked at 18-18, CUT lock Derik Pretorius stormed upfield before fullback Cohen Jasper completed the match-winning try.

It is the first time that the three-time Varsity Shield winners have beaten the five-time Varsity Cup champions.

Madibaz 20-24 Shimlas

Shimlas scored an 81st-minute try against the Madibaz to record their first win of this Varsity Cup season.

The men from Bloemfontein snatched victory when Luyanda Mkhize - who came off the bench - touched down in the corner, with JP Duvenage adding the conversion.

UWC 31-5 UJ 

UWC scored three second-half tries to cruise to a comfortable win against UJ at Loftus Versfeld.

Centre Andre Manuel sealed the deal, running in two late tries to secure their second win of the competition.

NWU Eagles 22-20 Wits

Flyhalf Keagan Fortune kicked an 82nd-minute penalty goal to give the NWU a thrilling win on Friday evening at Loftus Versfeld.

It was Fortune's fifth penalty of the match as he punished the indiscipline of Wits, who outscored their opponents by three tries to one and took a 20-19 lead in the 79th minute.
