Cape Town - Zimbabwe’s XV-a-side coach Peter de Villiers has wished the country’s Sevens team well as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco this weekend.
Zimbabwe will play Wales in the qualifying round on Friday, with the winner of the match going through to the tournament proper where a Round of 16 match awaits against host nation, the USA.
De Villiers, a former Springbok coach, recently joined the Twitter-sphere and he made the effort on Thursday to wish the Sevens team well.
“We will be nailed to the TV. Go boys, we root for you and we know that you will make us proud,” an upbeat De Villiers said.
De Villiers has a tough task at hand as his Zimbabwe side attempts to qualify for next year's Rugby World Cup in Japan.
They recently lost qualifying matches to Kenya (45-36) and Tunisia (18-14) and now face a must-win encounter against Namibia in Harare on August 4.
