The soon European competition-bound Stormers are slowly restoring a healthy arsenal in an area where a raft of departures in recent years left them thin: at fullback.

This critical berth, for both attack and defence-related reasons, became a slightly fragile area from a depth point of view for both incumbent head mastermind John Dobson and his predecessors Robbie Fleck and Allister Coetzee.

The tenures of the trio of coaches generally coincided with more of an outbound than acquisition staffing trend at No 15, when you consider the gradual exits from Newlands (though Cape Town Stadium has since become the new "HQ") of players like Gio Aplon, Cheslin Kolbe, EW Viljoen, Jaco Taute, Dillyn Leyds and SP Marais.
