Cape Town - England coach Eddie Jones believes rugby will end up having two referees on the field in years to come.
Jones was speaking on Monday after his side's controversial 12-11 win over the Springboks at Twickenham on Saturday.
The match was tightly contested throughout, but an incident after the final hooter when England flyhalf Owen Farrell went clattering into Springbok centre Andre Esterhuizen with no arms, stole the headlines post-match.
Jones steered clear of discussing the incident in detail, but he did reveal that he saw the way the game was officiated changing in the years to come.
"We are asking one referee to do it the way they did it when blokes like me were playing, jogging round the field basically," Jones said as quoted by the Independent.
"And he’s still doing the same job. So I think the referees are doing a great job.
"At some stage in the future, probably not in my time, they may have to look at two referees on the field."
England are in action against the All Blacks this weekend while the Boks take on France in Paris on Saturday (22:05, SA time).
