Cape Town - If local bookmakers are to be believed, there will not be much of a South African challenge in Super Rugby this season.

According to Sportingbet, the Stormers are the most likely of the South African sides to challenge for the title at 11/1.

However, the bad news is that there are seven other sides who are more likely to walk away winners, with the New Zealand trio of the Chiefs, Crusaders and Hurricanes joint favourites at 6/1.

Newcomers, the Jaguares - the Argentinean addition to the competition - are also more fancied than any of the South African sides at 10/1.

The Stormers have been pooled are alongside the Cheetahs, Bulls and Sunwolves (Japan) in the first of the African groups and they will avoid playing any of the New Zealand sides in the group stages of the tournament.
