Cape Town - It's unclear whether Ian McIntosh and Peter Jooste will be retained as Springbok selectors for the 2016 season.

The duo's terms as national selectors expired after last year's Rugby World Cup and according to Rapport, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) is yet to decide if they will be retained.

There are talks that the selection committee could be expanded to five members.

Joost was the convenor of selectors, and he, along with McIntosh and coach Heyneke Meyer, selected the Springbok squads.

McIntosh, who has been a Springbok selector since the Jake White era, says he is available should SARU again call on his services.

“I’m old school and have never applied for a rugby job. I was chosen as school coach, club coach, provincial coach, national coach and selector. If they still want me, then I’ll say yes,” said McIntosh.

McIntosh was the Natal coach when they won the Currie Cup for the first time in 1990 and also coached the Springboks in 12 Tests between 1993 and 1994.
