AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy feels that a number of in-form players have been omitted from Molefi Ntseki's 26-man Bafana Bafana squad.
South Africa are competing in Group C of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers where they have nine points from four games, level with leaders Ghana.
They take on the Black Stars at home on March 25 ahead of an away trip to the Sudan three days later.
McCarthy was accepting his award for DStv Premiership Manager of the Month for January/February when asked about the current national team.
"I do feel for a lot of the players that I am able to watch up closely in the PSL, they've done exceptionally well... your Thabo Nodada's, Mduduzi Mdantsane. I think they've done exceptionally well for Cape Town City; they are worthy of an opportunity," he said as quoted by the SowetanLIVE.
"Gift Links (Aarhus GF), I follow European football and he's a player who's doing very well. He's playing at his club, scoring goals. I am not a national team coach, that's just my opinion. You have the likes of Taariq Fielies, a central defender who's been superb, (but) not in the squad."
McCarthy added: "There're a few players at Swallows, they've done really well. Some of the players could feel hard done by not being called up."
