Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has distanced himself from the Bafana Bafana job despite widespread media reports.

This comes after the South African Football Association (SAFA) suspended head coach, Shakes Mashaba, for allegedly insulting SAFA president Danny Jordaan after Bafana's victory over Senegal.

Sredojevic took to his official Twitter account to "strongly deny" any rumours linking him to the Bafana Bafana coaching role.

"I strongly deny rumours and speculations about linking me with S.Africa due to my unreserved loyality to Uganda and absolute respect for S.Africa," he said in his post.

According to the Sowetan Live, the Serbian coach has agreed in principle to replace Mashaba only after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as he wants to guide Uganda to a successful campaign.

Sredojevic spent six months at the Buccaneers before being sacked in January 2007.
