Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki has called up Bloemfontein Celtic defender Tshepo Rikhotso to his squad for Saturday's international friendly against Zambia in Lusaka.

Rikhotso has added to the South Africa squad as a replacement for Luckyboy Mokoena, who was initially brought in as cover for Thapelo Morena.

Mokoena and Morena have since been released from national duties due to injury.

Mokoena suffered a blow to his right knee during Highlands Park’s goalless draw against Polokwane City in the MTN8 semi-final first leg on Saturday, while Morena suffered a groin strain during Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF Champions League victory Otoho d’Oyo the week before.

Rikhotso is predominantly a centre-back but is regarded as an option to cover for Thamsanqa Mkhize, while Thulani Hlathswayo is the option at full-back if needed.

The 26-year-old Rikhotso has never been capped at international level but was part of Owen Da Gama's SA Under-23 side which qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games.
