Cape Town - South Africa will play football at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil after the beat Senegal in a penalty shootout on Saturday to finish third at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

The match had ended 0-0 after 90 minutes, but there were chances aplenty for both sides throughout.

South African goalkeeper Jody February was the hero of the day, saving three penalties in the shootout and one in the 90 minutes.

Senegal's 17-year-old right back Moussa Wague saw his second half penalty saved by February before the rebounded shot rattled back off the crossbar.

And February was the man of the moment in the penalty shootout too, saving the first two Senegalese spot kicks and then another as South Africa recovered from misses from Kwanda Mngonyama and Keagan Dolly.
