Cape Town - Brendan Rodgers did arguably the best work out of all 20 Premier League managers during the transfer window.
Liverpool's transfers rated: 9/10
Bought a proven Premier League goalscorer (Benteke), added excitement (Firmino), calmness (Milner) and quality at the back (Gomez and Clyne).
In: Joe Gomez (Charlton Athletic, £3.5m), James Milner (Manchester City, free), Adam Bogdan (Bolton, free), Danny Ings (Burnley, undisclosed, Roberto Firmino (Hoffenheim, £29m), Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton, £12.5m), Christian Benteke (Aston Villa, £32.5m)
Out: Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy, free), Glen Johnson (released), Brad Jones (released), Danny Ward (Aberdeen, loan), Sebastian Coates (Sunderland, undisclosed), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City, £49m), Rickie Lambert (West Brom, £3m), Mario Balotelli (AC Milan, loan) Fabio Borini (Sunderland, £10m), Lazar Markovic (Fenerbahce, loan), Jordan Williams (Swindon Town, loan)
Best bit of business: I've been most impressed by the left and right backs (Gomez and Clyne) brought to the club so far this season ... and for just £16 million.
Worst bit of business: Potentially Liverpool needed one more centre-back to join the club but again, that's looking for a negative in a very good transfer window for Rodgers - he needed it too. Replacing Gerrard is an impossible task so no fault there either.
