Cape Town - Following Bastian Schweinsteiger's high-profile exit from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, the club's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has moved to assure fans that Thomas Muller will not be joining Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford.

Bayern Munich have categorically denied any more players will be sold to Manchester United, according to the Express.

Muller, as well as striker Robert Lewandowski, have been linked with moves to the Red Devils but the club have moved swiftly to distance their star players with summer exits.

Rummenigge told Sport 1: "We have never received an offer for Thomas Muller."

''I can reassure all the fans we will not be selling another player to Manchester United."

Muller was given his first-team chance at Bayern by current Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal and the player recently said that "a request by a big club is an honour and appreciation that your output was good" in reference to interest in his services.

At 25-years-old Muller is still considered to be one of the brightest talents in world football. The 2014 World Cup winner is closing in on 200 caps for Bayern Munich and has over 60 caps with the senior German side.
