Cape Town - Arsenal manager Unai Emery insists he has done all he can to convince defender Laurent Koscielny to stay at the Emirates and says he is now leaving the matter to the club to resolve.
The defender caused an uproar when refusing to jet off to the USA with the rest of the Gunners squad for pre-season and his future is now up in the air.
Speaking after the defeat against Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup in Maryland, Emery says he did all he could to sort the situation, but it is now down to the club and the player to find a solution.
"I've spoken about him, with respect to him," Emery said. "I tried to be with us in the position here and continue working and finding one solution between the club, between him and us.
"When he decided not to come here with us on tour, the solution is now only for the club and him. He decided to be out. I respect him but I have a responsibility, he has a responsibility, and the club have their responsibility.
"Now it's one issue only for the club and him. My idea is to continue with the players we are working with, and the players that want to be here."
