Cape Town - Ben Chilwell is looking forward to being part of Leicester's long-term plans after signing a new deal through to 2024 at the King Power Stadium.

The 21-year-old left-back graduated to the first team in 2015 and made his senior debut against Hull in the EFL Cup but played no part in their maiden Premier League title-winning season.

Chilwell eventually made his top-flight bow the following campaign in a 2-0 defeat to Everton and has gone on to become a key player for the Foxes.

His performances for Claude Puel's side led to a first England cap last month, when the young defender came on as a second-half substitute against Switzerland, made even more special by the fact that it came in front of his own fans.

Chilwell has started all eight league games for the East Midlands outfit this term and is relishing the challenges ahead after being handed a three-year contract extension.

"Leicester's always felt like the right place for me. I've had fantastic support at every level since I arrived nine years ago, and I've always felt opportunities would come if I continued to work hard," he told the club's official website.

"That's a great feeling to have as a young player. The club has really big, long-term plans and it's really exciting to know that I'm going to be part of that.

"We've got a great squad with quite a youthful core so there's a real opportunity for us to push on and achieve something together in the coming years."
