Cape Town - Marouane Fellaini believes all the Manchester United players support manager Jose Mourinho despite the club's disappointing start to the season.

The Red Devils are without a win in their last four games across all competitions. They drew 1-1 at home against Wolves, lost in a penalty shootout against Championship side Derby County at home, lost 3-1 at West Ham United, and most recently played out a goalless draw at Old Trafford against Valencia in the Champions League.

The pressure continues to mount on Mourinho, in the wake of the underwhelming performances, while rumours of unrest in the dressing room gains traction every day.

However, Fellaini reckons the players still believe in the Portuguese tactician.

In a public display of solidarity, United's players formed a huddled on the pitch prior to the Valencia game on Tuesday.

Asked about the huddle, Fellaini told the press: "I think we wanted to show that we are together. Everybody (was behind the idea). I think everybody is behind the manager.

"Today I think we showed improvement and we have to keep going. Everyone is going in the same direction to try to improve and to do better.

"I think it was a bad day against West Ham. We were all bad. We have to do our best and do our job.

"We showed it today, but we have to do better on Saturday," the Belgian added.

Fellaini continued: "Yeah (it was a frustrating night), but it was much better than West Ham.

"We put energy, effort, we run forward, we try to score the goal. OK, we didn't but we have to keep going.

"We have to continue to work hard. We have the next game Saturday and we play every three days so it's another chance to do better.

"The spirit is there. You saw it today, but we have to win on Saturday."

United are back in action on Saturday as they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford.

Kick-off is at 18:30 (SA time).
