Cape Town - Jose Mourinho was sent from the touchline again as a dominant Manchester United were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday

United found themselves trailing once more to a goal shortly after the kick-off when Diafra Sakho directed Dimitri Payet's pin-point cross past David De Gea from close range just 90 seconds in.

They slowly went about looking for a way back into the contest as Juan Mata drew a comfortable save out of Randolph on the quarter-hour mark after being played in by Ibrahimovic on the left.

The home team were level from their next attack on 21 minutes as Ibrahimovic nipped in behind the defence to head home Pogba's delightfully floated cross from close range.

Jesse Lingard volleyed over off-balance from Ibrahimovic's downward header following Mata's ball in on 34 minutes, while Michail Antonio went close at the other end moments later as he cut in from the right and beat two defenders before firing wide of the right post from outside the area.

Marcus Rashford should have done better when he was sent racing clear on goal by Phil Jones' headed pass two minutes later, but he drew a sharp save out of Randolph, who came out to narrow the angle.

United continued to search for a second goal before the break as Pogba sent a looping header wide of the right post from Mata's corner before Ibrahimovic did the same from the Spaniard's cross following a quickly-taken free-kick.

The final action of the first half saw Randolph produce another fine save to deny Lingard following neat inter-passing around the penalty area.

Sakho was presented with a rare chance for the east Londoners nine minutes after the restart as he directed a header over at the near post from a corner, before Payet looked to catch out De Gea with a cheeky free-kick from the right that the keeper tipped over the bar.

Substitute Wayne Rooney gave Randolph more work to do on 68 minutes as he looked to pick out the bottom right corner of the net from the left, while Jones steered his header wide of the right post from a corner and Lingard fizzed a volley straight at the keeper from 19 yards out four minutes later.

Randolph came to the hammers' rescue again twice in the closing stages as he tipped Pogba's 19-yard strike around the left post before cutting out Ibrahimovic's ball back across goal at the near post, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan waiting to pounce.

Ashley Fletcher could have snatched all three points for the visitors with three minutes left, but he failed to beat De Gea at the near post from an acute angle on the right after the youngster had taken the ball past three players.
