Cape Town - Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has heaped praise on Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, calling them "world class" attackers.

The trio have been instrumental in guiding Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table as the team have scored 30 goals in 11 games, with 18 of them having been supplied by either Coutinho, Firmino or Sane.

The Reds currently hold a one-point lead at the summit of the table after they demolished Watford 6-1 on Sunday.

"They are world-class players," Henderson said.

"Their understanding of the game, not only going forward, but also the work rate they all give for the team in terms of pressing and winning the ball back high up the pitch. They all help the team defensively.

"The three of them are fantastic at that and then going forward they are unstoppable when they are on it."

Henderson added that as a captain and midfielder, there is no better sight when the trio are putting the opposition under pressure and scoring goals.

"I see them every day," he said. "It's a pleasure to be playing with them. It's our job to ensure that we offer protection for them when they are going forward and expressing themselves.

"As a team I feel as though we have a lot of quality and in the final third they've been brilliant over the past few weeks. It was very good from them against Watford but then I thought we were very good throughout the whole team."

In particular, Henderson has been highly impressed with the impact Mane has had since the 24-year-old joined the Reds from Southampton in June. He has already scored six goals and notched up two assists in 10 Premier League appearances.

"He was a big talent at Southampton," Henderson added. "From the performances he put in and the goals he scored, you could see the ability he had.

"Since he's come here he's gone up another level and you have to give credit to the manager and to his staff for that, as well as to Sadio himself for the work he's put in.

"He's gone up another level tactically and in terms of intelligence. I'm sure Sadio would tell you the same. But he's also put in the hard work and that's what's getting him the rewards."
