London - Chelsea midfielder Oscar is on track to become the latest high-profile player to move to the Chinese Super League.

According to varying reports, Shanghai SIPG have agreed to pay £60 million for the Brazilian.

Either way, the amount paid for Oscar would easily surpass the current transfer record of £56 million that Shanghai paid to acquire the services of Hulk in June.

Since Oscar has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge, he has allegedly told his team-mates that he will be moving to China, according to The Telegraph. It is also understood that the 25-year-old, who has wanted to play under current Shanghai manager Andre Villas-Boas, is set to earn at least €350,000 a week.

Should the deal go through, it will also be Chelsea’s new record for sales as it will beat the £50 million the Blues received from Paris Saint-Germain for defender David Luiz in 2014.

In the ongoing season, Oscar has made 11 appearances for Chelsea, but has failed to have an impact as he has not found the back of the net and only notched up one assist.

Meanwhile, defender Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal with the Blues that will see the Spanish international extend his stay with the London-based club to 2020.
