Manchester - Sergio Aguero has dispelled rumours he could be joining Real Madrid by declaring that he is flourishing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The Argentina international's future was the subject of speculation after being benched for back-to-back games against Everton and Barcelona last month.

But Aguero responded by scoring three times in his four subsequent starts, with his goal in the 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday taking his tally to 150 for City.

And the 28-year-old striker has pledged his commitment to the Citizens, saying that Guardiola is making him a better player and that there are no issues between them.

"A while back there was a Real Madrid rumour but the truth is that I am very happy at City, especially with the arrival of Pep," Aguero told ESPN Radio in Argentina.

"He is helping me to grow as a player and we talk a lot. I am very happy. When the coach is helping you it calms you down and give you more confidence.

"I have no idea what the rumours are. But I am happy at City and I hope to finish out my contract there and then return to Independiente.

"I have never had any issues with Pep. We spoke a lot. But he has never had a problem with me nor I with him.

"He always gives me advice. I am happy because he wants to help me be a better football player and that makes me feel good."

The former Atletico Madrid striker moved to dispel rumours further of a rift with Guardiola saying that the reason why he was dropped against Everton and Barcelona was because his head wasn't right after missing a penalty for Argentina in their 1-0 defeat against Paraguay a few days earlier.
