Manchester - Manchester United were too strong for struggling Fulham as they thrashed the relegation-threatened Cottagers 4-1 in Saturday's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

United hit the front in the 13th minute as Ashley Young hit a stunner into the top corner beyond the goalkeeper after showing good skill.

It was one-way traffic and soon was 2-0 in the 28th minute as Juan Mata showed composure to smash home from inside the area from Marcus Rashford's low cross.

It appeared it could be a massacre at the Theatre of Dreams as Jessie Lingard then turned provider for Romelu Lukaku to add a third just before the break.

However, the away side showed character as they won a penalty in the 67th minute which Aboubakar Kamara struck home beyond David de Gea with a cool finish.

With that said, the Red Devils made their dominance count in the clash when Rashford struck home in the 82nd minute beyond Sergio Rico at his near post, though the goalkeeper may have felt he could have done better.

The result is a welcome return to winning ways to manager Jose Mourinho's men, who have won just once in their last five EPL encounters.
