Cape Town - Despite insisting they are not feeling the pressure to sell any of their vital players, Southampton have already lost Rickie Lambert to Liverpool and now captain Adam Lallana has told the club he wants a transfer after the World Cup.

Lallana is rumoured to be frustrated at having seen Lambert's deal with Liverpool go through while there has been no progress made on his own move.

Liverpool have made a £25m bid for the 26-year-old and he is keen to join his team-mate at Anfield next season. Former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino is also rumoured to be interested in bringing Lallana to Spurs.

The England midfielder has not handed in a formal transfer request, but the BBC have reported that he has made it very clear he wants to leave the club. Lallana hopes to pull off a 'Gareth Bale', by getting the club to agree to sell him without being forced to infuriate fans by publicly pushing for a transfer.

The south coast club had earlier stated that they would not sell any players before appointing a new manager to replace Pochettino.
