Cape Town - Although having denied any wrongdoing, Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is being investigated after being accused of tax evasion in Portugal.

Media reports had said Scolari was alleged to have not paid $9 million (about R93 million) in back tax dating from his 2003-2008 stint with the Portuguese national side.

“I made all my income tax declarations correctly,” Scolari, who coached Brazil to the 2002 World Cup title, said.

“I always declared my earnings in all the countries I worked in. I am absolutely convinced of the correctness of my declarations,” he said.

“If there is something wrong it is not of my doing,” said Scolari, who invited the authorities to look into “all the facts”.
