Cape Town - Tottenham striker Harry Kane is determined to improve his goal-scoring record for England after enjoying another excellent Premier League season.

The 23-year-old claimed the Golden Boot for the second consecutive campaign after bagging 29 goals in 30 appearances.

On the international stage, the Spurs star hasn't quite found the same level of success in front of goal, scoring five in 17 games, and he is eager to improve that, starting with Scotland on Saturday.

"Club football, you are in a rhythm all the time," he said, according to the Mirror.

"You are playing week in, week out but for your country, it is not like that. You meet up every now and then.

"But it is something I have got to get used to. I want to get back playing, hopefully get back scoring.

"If I score maybe a hat-trick at the weekend and a couple in the next game, the ratio might not look so bad.

"As a striker, you can always change that. Five in 17 isn't a terrible record but it is something I want to improve. Hopefully that can start at the weekend."
