Cape Town - Veteran Angola forward Love scored a brace of goals as Sagrada Esperança ousted Ajax Cape Town from the African Confederation Cup with a 2-0 victory at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

According to SuperSport.com, the result hands the visitors a 3-2 aggregate win and will be hugely disappointing for the Premier Soccer League side, who wasted numerous opportunities on the night.

The visitors took the lead midway through the first half when striker Love bundled the ball home after Ajax had failed to clear a simple ball into the box.

The goal came against the run of play and with virtually the only chance of the first half for the Sagrada, but handed them the halftime lead.

Ajax should have gone into the break at least level but missed a number of excellent opportunities, the biggest culprit being attacking midfielder Toriq Losper.

He forced a good save from visiting keeper Yuri Tavares with the whole goal to aim at, and then saw his flicked effort from point-blank range go straight into the hands of grateful gloveman.

Ajax had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down just before halftime when Tavares appeared to clash with Bantu Mzwakali in the box. The referee waved play-on.

Ajax had a number of chances in the second half, Losper again missing when well placed and Franklin Cale blasting over from eight yards.

They continued to pepper the visitors goal, but were undone by more slack play in the final minute when Losper lost the ball in midfield, allowing the visitors to break.

The ball came to Love in the box and with time to pick his spot, placed the ball past Brandon Petersen in the Ajax goal.
