Chiefs sneak past Celtic

19 Aug 2014

Match Report

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter believed Celtic were well prepared for the game as they defended and attacked equally well. A stubborn Celtic side kept Khosi at bay till the 79th minute.

Masango looks the real deal as he dealt with a pinpoint cross from Lebese and a low shot from the young forward to edge it from the the Free State club.

Ernst Middendorp was completely dissatisfied with some of the referees calls and the way his team played.

All round it was a game of different halves. PSL needs more goals and more attacking flare.

First Half thoughts...

Celtic are keeping Kaizer Chiefs at bay and the men in green playing from the counter attack.

Nkhatha had a few decent chances to put Amakhosi ahead but the striker seems to not have his scoring boots on if he ever does find them, the second half is in need of a goal.

19 Aug 2014

Prediction

Hands have been shaken or in this case, fist bumps - now time for my prediction. Who do you think will edge this encounter?

Kaizer Chiefs are fresh from 2-0 win over Platinum Stars and Bloemfontein has had two hard earned draws.

However, Chiefs are looking fresh and hungry for silverware and me thinks they will continue their rise as George Maluleka, Yeye and Masango head their attack force.

2-1 to Amakhosi

19 Aug 2014

Both teams are coming out of the tunnel at a fresh looking FNB Stadium and a number of fans can be seen

19 Aug 2014

STARTING XI:

Kaizer Chiefs: Khune, Gaxa, Mathoho, Mashamaite, Masilela, Lebese, Katsande, Letsholonyane, Maluleka, Masango, Nkhatha

Bloemfontein Celtic: Tignyemb, Fransman, Ndengane, Cloete, Mzava, Letlabika, Bilankulu, Mogorosi, Nyatama, Ritchie, Mhango
