Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is reportedly attracting interest from a number of Middle Eastern teams.

The 33-year-old Nigeria international has been excellent for Amakhosi this season, helping the club to top spot on the PSL ahead of the enforced break.

The former Chippa United played 18 out of 22 games this season, and was rewarded for his good form with a new two-year contract extension.

The shotstopper's agent Mohammed Lawal told Soccer Laduma: "There are teams that are interested in Daniel, but as it is, there is nothing that is concrete.

"As you will know, Daniel just extended his contract with Kaizer Chiefs for another two years. So, if a club is really interested, they must speak with Kaizer Chiefs.

"So far, so good. There was interest from Saudi Arabia, and there was interest from Kuwait. There has been interest from other places. But that's something we will see (at a later stage), if it’s definitely going to happen. We will see how it goes."
