Cape Town - Polokwane City midfielder Cole Alexander insists he has not signed a pre-contract with Mamelodi Sundowns amid interest from the Premiership leaders.

The 26-year-old is free to speak to other clubs after entering the final six months of his contractual agreement with Rise and Shine and was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs last week.

Downs coach Pitso Mosimane has more recently expressed an interest in Cole, who is flattered but denied he had agreed to join Masandawana during the off-season.

"There has been interest from Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and one always feels chuffed when coaches show interest in a player," he told KickOff.

"That says a lot you know. But I have not put pen to paper at any club for that matter."

Alexander, who has started in 11 of City's 15 league games this term, also revealed last week he is in discussions with the Limpopo outfit about the possibility of extending his current deal.
