Cape Town - Baroka FC host Highlands Park in a Absa Premiership six-pointer at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

Bakgaga, in last place on the league standings, with 24 points, are just one points behind The Lions of the North, who head in to this tie in 14th place.

Both sides, can still escape relegation with maximum points from their remaining two match, depending on the results of the sides around them.

Chippa United (15th position) also have 24 points, while Free State Stars, in 13th, have 26 points while Bloemfontein Celtic are in 12th place with 27 points.

But while Baroka have not won since defeating Free State Stars at the beginning of April - losing two and drawing four since then, with their last clash a 3-2 loss to Golden Arrows; Highlands defeated Chippa 1-0 last time out - although this came on the back of four losses and two draws.

Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane, however, remains confident his side can overcome the odds to win their final two matches and avoid the drop.

"We still have a chance (to escape automatic relegation), we are left with Highlands Park and Ajax (Cape Town)," he told KickOff website.

"We can beat both those teams. We don't want the play-offs, we don't want to go there."

Baroka should have a healthy following at the game after the club announced it would hand out 10 000 free tickets to fans.

Highlands Park director Sinky Mnisi, meanwhile, added that his side need just one win to preserve their top-flight status.

He was reported on the Citizen as saying: "All of the games have been difficult for all teams. Baroka are in a critical position and so are we, we are going there to play. We need to win one game out of the two. We win one game and will be safe.

“We have to finish the season and then look at what we did wrong as a team and what we did right. There are things we did wrong and things we did right so we need to rectify some of these things.”
