Cape Town - University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett lambasted his team for missing the target far too often after the 2-0 loss against SuperSport United.

Goals from Sibusiso Khumalo and Thuso Phala compounded misery on struggling AmaTuks, who are facing relegation.

Bartlett has not been able to turn the team's fortunes around since taking over from Sammy Troughton last month.

The under-performing university club are 15th on the table with only three wins, four draws and 12 losses.

"When you are in this position you're gonna come in here every week and moan about officiating but also the players need to take responsibility," Bartlett told KickOff.

"I think I counted about ten chances in the second-half. If you can't put one away you're always gonna have your backs against the wall and when you allow a lapse of concentration and allow them to go and run at your goal, with the quality team that they are, they'll punish you.

"For me it was a game of two halves, we were all over them in the second half but we just didn't capitalise."
