Cape Town - University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett breathed a sigh of relief after securing his first win in the 3-0 victory over Chippa United on Saturday.

Bartlett had been winless since taking over from Sammy Troughton in February after three losses and one draw under his belt.

However, the university club broke their winless streak under Bartlett after goals from Willem Mwedihanga, Thabo Mosadi and Getaneh Kebede at the Tuks Stadium.

"You can see the load off my shoulders now. For me I think it's a reward for the performances we've been putting in the last couple of weeks. I told the players it's not a nice feeling coming in after putting in the hard work and not getting a result," Bartlett told KickOff.

"So I’m very pleased with the win, but also the clean sheet which will boost our confidence a lot heading into the next nine games."

AmaTuks are not out of danger yet as they sit second from bottom, only four points ahead of bottom-of-the-table Maritzburg United.
