Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs Communications Manager Vina Maphosa has not confirmed whether the club will form a guard of honour for new Premiership champions Bidvest Wits.

The Glamour Boys take on the Clever Boys on Saturday in their final league game of the campaign, and it is unclear whether the traditional guard will be formed in respect of the new champs.

"If it is in the Match Running Order, yes we will do that - only the Match Commissioner can confirm that for you," Maphosa said as quoted by Soccer Laduma website.

However, Premier Soccer League official Luxolo September denied that it was up to officials to decide if Amakhosi were to recognise Gavin Hunt's side.

"It's the club's decision. The Match Commissioner cannot force a club to do it," September told the publication.

"The club must send a request during match meeting to the match commissioner. So decision rests with them."

Platinum Stars gave Mamelodi Sundowns a guard of honour last season after they clinched the PSL crown.

Kick off is at 15:00.
