Johannesburg - Former Orlando Pirates winger Innocent Chikoya has thrown his weight behind new head coach Muhsin Ertugral at the Soweto giants for the coming season.

Ertugral has brought his disciplinarian personality to Pirates which is reportedly in stark contrast to last season under Eric Tinkler.

The Buccaneers have also made wholesale changes to the playing squad after the release of Sifiso Myeni, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Felipe Ovono.

"The coach has been using the different tournaments and friendly games, and it will help him build the team that he wants," Chikoya told Soccer Laduma.

"He has the chance to look at almost all the players, the old and the new, and see which combinations he will use in the new season and going forward."
