Swallows FC owner David Mogashoa says he's not surprised by the club's impressive start to life in the Premiership.
The Dube Birds are in second place on the league standings with 22 points, just two less than leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, after 10 rounds of games.
The club retained promotion-winning head coach Brandon Truter while supplementing their squad with a number of experienced campaigners.
Swallows last held MTN8 Champions Orlando Pirates to a 1-1 draw, and ahead of facing Baroka on Saturday, Mogashoa said the club are well on their way to achieve this season's goals.
He said: "Look, it's not something that is a surprise to us because we finished strongly [last season].
"The last time we lost a match was in March last year. We went to the PSL (Premier Soccer League) knowing that we're going to compete and compete properly.
"You look at the signings we've made. We signed good players. We had players that played well [last season], we kept them and didn't get rid of them."
Mogashoa added: "So the mandate for the coach is simple, for the coach to get us into top eight and compete there. And he is doing exactly that, competing in the top eight."
