Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa has been studying the stats, and believes the club's fortunes will soon improve.

Since winning the MTN8 final the Urban Warriors have lost five and drawn two of their last seven games, slipping to 12th spot on the table, only five points clear of the relegation zone.

But as the Capetonians get set to kick off 2016 with a home match against Bloemfontein Celtic on Friday night, De Sa is adamant his side are playing better than results suggest, and believes things will soon take a turn for the better.

"We sat down and looked really hard at our last three games (1-2 v Orlando Pirates, 0-1 v SuperSport United, 0-1 v Mpumalanga Black Aces), really analysed everything and the scary part is that we performed better than our opponents in all the vital stats," he was quoted as saying by the Sowetan.

"It showed we had the most passes, the most entries into the final third, most crosses, shots on target, etcetera - that we were tops and yet we lost all of the matches.

"As long as we keep doing that I think we are going to have a breakthrough. We just have to keep working hard, it's realistically all we can do."
