Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda believes his team will need a watertight defence against Zamalek in the two-legged CAF Champions League final.

The Brazilians will face the Egyptian heavyweights in the first leg of the final at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, before flying to the North African nation for the second leg on 23 October.

Mabunda is preparing himself for some shifts over two legs to thwart the opposition attack.

"For now, we need to make sure that we don't concede because we know that when we go away anywhere, we manage to get the goals, so if we don't concede here, I'm surely confident that we will do the business on the other side," Mabunda told The Citizen.

"It is very important for us to get goals...we played against ZESCO United [in the semi-final] away and we lost the game, although we lost the game, we managed to get a vital goal that assisted us because got the crucial goals here at home because we only needed one here at home.

"I think the fact that we beat Zamalek twice actually puts us at an disadvantaged position because now they come to us looking to redeem their loss, they will want us to feel what they felt when we beat them home and away, so I believe that it is going to be much more difficult than the games that we played, but we are ready, we know what to do and we are ready to beat them again."
