Cape Town - Vitoria de Setubal and Bafana Bafana forward Kermit Erasmus could reportedly seal a move to Cape Town City during the January transfer window.

According to a Soccer Laduma report, the player jetted out to South Africa recently to hold talks with City over a possible switch, however, nothing has been confirmed as yet.

Erasmus has seen a decline in his fortunes while in Europe since his move from Orlando Pirates to Rennes in 2015/16.

He struggled for playing time in France's Ligue 1 and also spent time on loan at second tier outfit Lens.

The former SuperSport United forward later moved to Sweden's Eskilstuna for a short spell before arriving at Vitoria in 2018/19.

The 28-year-old is way down the pecking order and has made no appearances in Portugal's top flight.

The publication added that the Portuguese outfit would not stand in Erasmus' way should an agreement be reached.

The Port Elizabeth-born star has a two-year contract with Vitoria meaning it could take a substantial financial package to lure him to the Mother City.
