Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral was critical of Thabo Rakhale, Gift Motupa and Bernard Morrison for the quality of their finishing and decision-making in Saturday's Soweto derby.

Ertugral was not satisfied at how Rakhale and Motupa missed arguably Pirates' best two chances of the contest, while Morrison's decision-making was questioned for not helping the team enough when Bucs didn't have the ball.

The derby ended goalless with both teams failing to capitalise on the chances they had.

Hendrick Ekstein was also guilty of missing a gilt-edged chance for Chiefs with an easy tap in.

Nonetheless, Ertugral was blunt in his assessment of the trio.

"The Rakhale chance was something we worked on in training, that specific movement. Thabo needed to remain calm there," he said of Rakhale to reporters after the game.

The Turk added of Motupa: "There's nothing wrong with the patterns. The problem is in how the guys react in front of goal. Gift was badly positioned.

"If Motupa was at a slightly opened angle, that ball is in the back of the net. Even if he takes a touch before hitting it. This seems to be a growing trend in South African football about goal scoring."

The coach concluded with his assessment on Morrison's display, "He can be very good with the ball but he needs to work on his off-the-ball organization. That's what let's his game down."
