Cape Town - Muhsin Ertugral has shared his thoughts about the upcoming Carling Black Label (CBL) Champion Cup contest between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

"There's not much to say, but to say that this is a unique project because its nowhere else. Its always nice to start the season with a derby especially because its going to be a full stadium."

Ertugral also took the time to highlight the teams preparations for the 2016/17 Absa Premiership campaign and revealed that Sifiso Myeni's transfer-listing was due to wanting to give other players a chance at game-time.

"The five weeks break was too long but the team had played throughout for three seasons so they needed the break. We are now mixing up our training focusing on their core as well as their speed and endurance," he added.

"The decision to put Sfiso Myeni on transfer list isn't because he's bad, but we want to give others a chance.

"With regards to our new players, I'm happy with them. We've trimmed done our team which allows for more tactical work.

"We are working on our quality. But we must remember that each player has their own quality that they bring to the field.

"There's a lot of youngsters out there who have talent and we need to give them a run. Experience is a bit overrated, so we need to bring in the young ones, because they're fresh.

"We have another tournament in Namibia next week which is good because I want us to play ten games before the start of the League.

"We have to look at various patterns of play and partnerships so yes the striker combination of Ndoro & Gabuza is a possibility. The fans player selection for Saturday is good. I would have made one change but the selection is actually good.

"We have a good squad and all we have to do now is figure out how to use the talent we have individually and collectively. From a football philosophy we want to win and play good and attractive football which will get people in the stands."

Ertugral, who spent two different spells as coach of Chiefs (1999-2003) and (2007-2009), said that Oupa Manyisa would lead the team, with Happy Jele and Thabo Matlaba deputising.

"My captains are Oupa Manyisa, Happy Jele and Thabo Matlaba. These are young man who have done a lot for SA football," he added.
