Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is still concerned with his side's inability to convert chances, but is confident they are heading in the right direction.

Amakhosi were beaten by Baroka FC to the FAME Charity Cup this past weekend, seven days after outclassing Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup.

But Komphela, who has done a complete overhaul of his squad over the winter, is unperturbed.

"We did create chances and it is only that we needed to hit the back of net," the Chiefs boss said. "(Luis) Macha had one or two chances and there was chance for (Kgotso) Moleko and Tsepo (Masilela), who was also in the box a couple of times.

"It is good to see the team getting in the box...You just need to get into that habit of hitting the back of the net, that's it. We just failed to score but chances we did create. But overall I am satisfied with where we are going."

Amakhosi will get their season under way with an Absa Premiership trip to Bidvest Wits on 23 August.
