Cape Town - Former Absa Premiership giants Moroka Swallows are reportedly set to sign former Kaizer Chiefs striking legend Fani Madida as technical director of football.

Swallows recently made a return to the professional ranks when they bought the National First Division status of Maccabi FC.

The Dube Birds had a rapid fall from grace when they were relegated from the PSL in 2014/15, before being demoted from the NFD the following season.

However, plans are afoot to seemingly re-establish the side as a force in local football with the 2012 MTN8 winners getting ready to compete in South Africa's second tier.

As such, the appointment of Madida seems another good step in the right direction.

A source told KickOff: "Fani Madida is coming in as technical director.

"Zeca Marques is still the head coach and this move is only to help bolster the technical team."
