Maritzburg United chairperson Farook Kadodia says the club's results will start to improve when their squad settles down.

The Team of Choice have lost all three of their 2020/21 DStv Premiership games, as well as a MTN8 quarter-final clash to kick off the season.

The club has seen assistant coach Vincent Kombola depart alongside influential leader and goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Delron Buckley was installed as assistant to coach to Eric Tinkler, with Sebastian Mwange added to the goalkeeping department, although Jethren Barr and Bongani Mpandle have been sharing keeper duties thus far this seasom.

Speaking to the Sowetan ahead of Maritzburg's league clash with Black Leopards on Saturday, Kadodia said: "As a brand, we have to play good football and get results. We just don't want to react to tough times. We need to get points early.

"We have five games before Christmas and we will make sure that players who were battling for work permits will be available on Saturday against Black Leopards. I am confident that we will turn things around."

Kadodia added: "It is quite difficult to get the right guy to replace him. I think that once Sebastian Mwange settles, he will be an adequate replacement for Ofori. The new signings outweigh the players that we lost.

"Vincent helped to keep the fire burning in the change room. Delron Buckley has come into the team. Once Delron is given more freedom and support, the void left by the departure of Vincent will be taken care of."
