Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler believes former team-mate Moeneeb Josephs will make a positive impact as AmaZulu assistant coach.

The 39-year-old Josephs, who served as the third-choice goalkeeper at Usuthu, was recently promoted to the assistant coach post alongside interim head coach Ayanda Dlamini after Jozef Vukusic was placed on special leave.

Dlamini and Josephs' first game in charge was a shock 1-0 victory over Amakhosi on Saturday.

Frosler was a team-mate of Josephs when they played together at Bidvest Wits with the duo part of PSL title-winning side in the 2016/17 season.

The Chiefs defender told The Citizen about Josephs: "He was always a good leader when I first broke into the first team (at Wits).

"He was always there to help me and guide me as a teammate.

"I think it is good for the club to have brought him in so he could help.

"I hope he brings something positive for them as a team."

It remains to be seen whether Josephs will consider retiring from professional football at the end of the season to take up a permanent coaching role.
