Golden Arrows head coach Mandla Ncikazi on Wednesday said he was grateful his side were able to clinch six points in Limpopo with consecutive victories over Black Leopards and TTM.
Ncikazi's side clinched victories in the space of four days with a come from behind 3-1 win over Leopards on Sunday before a dramatic 2-1 win over TTM on Wednesday.
Arrows are punching well above their weight under the impressive tutelage of Ncikazi who was appointed as head coach at the start of the current campaign in October 2020.
"We're just grateful as a team to get six points in Limpopo, it's not easy Ncikazi said post-match. "We're happy that the players were able to manage the heavy load [of playing two games in four days] of running in difficult conditions.
"We're still within the objectives that we'd planned in pre-season of getting 10 points in every group of five games, though it's lesser we're still doing well.
Ncikazi went on to explain the measures the club went to to overcome the short turnaround between matches and the difficulties it caused travelling to Limpopo.
"I'd also like to thank our chairperson, Mato Madlala as it is a very difficult trip from Durban to Venda and we chartered a flight for the team and I'm sure the results were based on our travelling arrangements.
"For that I thank her and she's always been supportive of our ventures as a team.
"Going forward I just wish we can manage the little bit of success we've had so far. We should guard against what happened previously where we won the Q-innovation 2 then our mentality was not right in the following match.
"I just hope we are switched on and keep the same mentality against Cape Town City and realise we haven't done anything yet, we've just been doing well."
Arrows face the Citizens this coming Saturday in a league clash.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
