Cape Town - Bidvest Wits skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo believes there's enough depth and quality in the team to challenge for the last two trophies on offer this season.

Gavin Hunt's men are currently second in the Premiership standings, four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with just seven games left to play, and are also in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals against Free State Stars later this month.

"As a team we have momentum now and are winning back-to-back games," Hlatshwayo told his club's website.

"Knowing [Hunt], he would like to win both the Nedbank Cup and the league. As players we have the desire and potential to challenge for both - the desire for trophies is what drives us.

"When you look at the team we have a lot of quality and potential, there is a balance of experience and young players.

"Many of the players in the squad that have won cups, and those players guide and teach us. We have a lot of depth in the squad this season, and we are confident that we will do well."

The defender known as 'Tyson' expects a physical battle against Stars, who they will host in the league on April 16 before their cup showdown.

"It is going to be an interesting game, and it is never easy playing away from home," he added.

"We are most definitely up for the challenge. Our coach always takes each and every game seriously.

"Free State Stars are a physical team, and will not be an easy opposition to play against.

"We are playing them back-to-back, and we will know what to do on the field with the PSL game a week before the Nedbank Cup game."
