Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt was left desolate after his team's lack of cutting edge in front of goal resulted in the sharing of the spoils against Platinum Stars.

A blunder from back-up goalkeeper Jethren Barr led to the opening goal after his clearance ricocheted off Eleazar Rogers and into the goal on seven minutes.

James Keane grabbed the equaliser for the Students moments later in the 15th minute at the Wits Stadium on Wednesday.

Hunt lamented the numerous missed opportunities during the match as his side fell six points behind Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

"We gave them a start, like we've been giving teams a start now for the last five games. We gave them an unbelievable start, and those things happen in football," Hunt told KickOff.

"But that's been happening for the last five games, and you can't play like that but we came back and showed good character.

"We should have scored two, three, four, five, I mean, we had so many opportunities just to...The final ball just let us down."

Hunt also refused to publicly rebuke Barr for his horrendous mistake that handed Dikwena the perfect start.

"He's a good, young keeper, you know, I've had many young keepers...It's unfortunate, but he did well and he came good afterwards and I still believe in him, and I'll keep believing in him," Hunt said.
