Gavin Hunt admits he has concerns over the fitness of players as Wits gear up to return to training.

Players have been working out on their own during the enforced lockdown as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

There is only so much you can do alone, sparking fears that Wits will be underprepared upon their return to league action.

Hunt was reported on the Daily Sun as saying: "I'm worried about the fitness of my players.

"I told the players not to rest on their laurels and forget about their jobs while they are sitting at home.

"It's important to keep fit and to stay healthy. I made it clear that they must watch what they eat as it could make them gain extra kilos."

Wits entered the break in sixth place on the Premier Soccer League standings with nine games to play.

It remains to be seen whether or not the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season will be able to resume.
