Cape Town – Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says that he almost had a heart-attack after his side edged Maritzburg United 2-1.

Daine Klate had given the visitors a 30th-minute lead, but United clawed their way back when substitute Gregory Maasdorp levelled with nine minutes to play.

However, deep into stoppage time, another replacement James Keene struck to break the hosts' hearts.

“I almost had a heart-attack … I feel about 10 years older,” he said as quoted by KickOff.

“Teams have done it to us this year as well, but sometimes the soccer gods repay you a little bit.

“I thought we worked hard. They came at us second half, for sure, but I thought we controlled the first half. Daine (Klate) missed a tap-in before we scored and we missed two other chances, and then obviously James (Keene) at the end.”

The result means the Team of Choice stay rooted to the bottom of the table, while Wits remain seven points behind Sundowns, who also won on the night.
