Cape Town - Platinum Stars boss Cavin Johnson admits he's bemused by the Premier Soccer League's decision to slap the club with a points deduction.

Dikwena have been punished by the league after fielding former Orlando Pirates trainee Siyabonga Zulu while he wasn't registered to play for the club.

When quizzed about the statement released by the league, Johnson claimed he was not the right person to explain why the unregistered Zulu had played.

"I'm only the coach… but it shouldn't happen at this level," he said in a press conference.

"There probably is a reasons why [it happened] but I don't think I am the right person to answer."

The Rustenberg-based outfit now trail second-placed Bidvest Wits by eight points, and their hopes of qualifying for the CAF Champions league are hanging by a fine thread.
